Yamaha's Recording Custom snare drums have been a staple in recording studios since the late '70s, and they've now been elevated through a collaboration with legendary session drummer Steve Gadd (Paul Simon, Steely Dan). These snares, each embodying a different era of Yamaha’s renowned metal snare drums, offer an enhanced performance. You can select from the vibrant resonance of aluminum, the sharp crack of steel, or the deep, rich tones of brass (each sold separately). The shells are meticulously crafted to a slim 1.2mm thickness, featuring an external center bead—a Yamaha first—and are finished with a luxurious brushed texture, updated lugs, and an offset badge.
